Breathing is so Loud

Breathing is so loud

For us

And the inhale so soft

On the 7th I stopped trying to keep myself warm

Just cold feet in a big bed in a big house alone

Like being in a casket or a castle; either one could be a home

Blue flashing lights to take your life

Be a traitor and they don’t even bite

Like a good dog trained bad

Good is the grief, can’t even be mad

Just numb

Turn off the lights and turn off the sun

Just numb

Pluto ruling the tide of death and resurrection

We got a capital full of insurrection

What is born of this

Because something has died

Something big, fat, and stinky

Takes up a whole continent and finally has died

Boldly taking up space without regard

Warring and raging just like Mars

Because something died

You must be so white that you have forgotten you have a face

You must be so white that you have forgotten you have fingerprints

You must be so white that you have forgotten you wear a skin

You must be so white that you have forgotten you

Just like a ghost forgotten.

Just like a ghost dead.

You are so white you forgot you are a criminal too.

Next time the cops ask who, don’t forget January 6th, 2021

Don’t forget what they do.
